Barcelona has completed the signing of French forward Ousmane Dembele from Dortmund after reaching an agreement with the German club, which makes him the most expensive player in football behind Neymar at a price of 147 million euro.
The 20-year-old French forward will sign a five year deal with the Spanish side after the deal is officially signed.
Barcelona has confirmed that they will pay 105 million for the player and a 42 million Euros will come in bonus and have set his release clause at 400 million Euros.
Barcelona was compelled to chase the signature of Dembele and Coutinho following the transfer of Neymar for a world record fee but have found it difficult to close a deal with Coutinho as Liverpool have reiterated that they won’t be selling the Brazilian this season. Dortmund was, however, more considerate as they have opted to cash in on the player who refused to turn up for training.
One Season Wonder?
Dembele played only one season for Dortmund before making his decision to leave the club after Barcelona indicated their interest in his services. He scored 10 goals for the German side in 50 games for the team.
He is expected to arrive Spain this weekend and will have his medical and put pen to paper on his contract and unveiled on Monday.
