Dani Mathers, a famous nude model, took a picture of a naked woman and posted it online amid social media rage accusing the model of body shaming the woman.

The 30-year-old model took a picture of a 71-year-old woman in the locker room of a fitness gym in Lo Angeles. The model then posted the pic on Snapchat with “If I can’t unsee this then you can’t either,” as a caption.

The photo featured the woman’s backside, a selfie of Mathers wearing a white tank top from Nike and workout gloves while covering her mouth in disgust.

On Wednesday, Mathers didn’t plead guilty or admit any violation of privacy which caused the social media to be angry and charges against her last winter.

The model legal situation

However, Mathers was punished by LA judge of the County Superior Court who instructed the model to spend 30 days scrubbing graffiti around the city. In addition to be sentenced to three years’ probation.

Mike Feuer, LA Attorney who is charge of the case, stated: “The issues that surround body shaming can be devastating — not only to daughters and mothers, but also to sons and fathers, members of the LGBTQ community, to a trans kid who might be struggling with identity, to people who are disabled. The message today is clear: body shaming is not tolerated in the City of Los Angeles.”

Mathers faced six months in jail and a fine worth of $1,000.

“I think she wanted to be done with this and accept responsibility for what occurred,” Mathers’ lawyer, Dana Cole, said on Wednesday.

Mathers apologizes

As a result, LA Fitness banned the model from all of their gyms and confirmed to the police that Mathers did took a photo of a naked woman in the locker room.

Although she didn’t plead guilty, Mathers apologized claiming that she was sending the picture to a friend. Eventually, the model deleted all of her social media accounts for a couple of months.

“I know that body-shaming is wrong,” she said. “That is not the type of person I am.”
