In the midst of a possible staff reshuffle in the White House, a senior republican, Michael Steele, claimed that nobody wants to work for President Trump because he’s “crazy.”
Senior Republican, Michael Steele, claimed that in the midst of a possible white house staff shuffle, nobody wants to work for the president.
“The talent pool is shrinking, because who wants to sign up for crazy? Nobody wants to step into a situation where youre flying by the seat of your pants and don’t know whether what you just said will hold up from one news cycle to the next,” he said to The Hill. “Nobody is going to be lining up for positions with that much uncertainty.”
However, one former adviser of Trump’s said: “There are plenty of people who would give both arms to have one of these jobs. What they need is a chief of staff or someone else with a Rolodex of 5,000 names and a broad network to come clean this up.”
Steele had previously said he doesn’t believe Donald Trump will last till the end of his first term, and that he believes Vice President Mike Pence will have taken over by 2020.
The White House Shuffle
The staff shuffle is rumored to be happening following Mike Dubke’s resignation, the President’s communications director. Dubke resigned just three months into Trump’s presidency.
Other members of staff that are also believed to be at risk of replacement include Reince Priebus, the chief of staff, who has been blamed for many of the administration’s problems, as well as Sean Spicer, the White House Press Secretary, who has been criticized for his media briefings. However, some reports are suggesting that he will be keeping his job but giving fewer briefings.
