Chelsea star, William has stated that Brazil will be able to cope without the presence of Neymar as they get set for their game against Argentina on Friday night.
The Brazilian star is among the long list of expensive players that make up the Brazilian team, which is ranked as the number in the world, alongside the likes of David Luis, Thiago Silva, Phillipe Coutinho and Gabriel Jesus.
The Brazilian, 28, believes no game against Argentina can be regarded as a friendly game because of the rivalry between the two footballing nations’.
We are fine without Neymar
“Not having Neymar for this game is really sad because we are aware of the quality he brings to the team, but the players in the team right now have that same quality too to win us a game,’’ Willian said.
“We have a formidable squad and on Friday we going to show our ability.”
“A match between Argentina and Brazil is not about the players on the field of play but the game is all about a good rivalry.
“We both have experienced players. We have to close down on Messi all through the game because what he brings in the game is unimaginable.’’
Journey To Russia
The Chelsea star has seven goals in 45 international appearances and is one of the most experienced players in the Brazilian squad. But has revealed that he will never take going to the World cup for granted.
“I have to battle it out to get picked on the team; I have to play more matches with Chelsea. Whether I find myself in Russia or not all will be determined by my game time and consistence at club level.
“We’ve already booked our place at the 2018 World Cup in Russia and this is an important moment for the team and the nation.”
“But this game is very important to the team. We’re here to win and we have to be at our best to be able to do that.”
